![]() ![]() The body tissue cells will run out of oxygen for ATP and thus the entire body will slow down. If the heart doesn’t get this oxygenated blood quickly then it cannot deliver fast enough to the various parts of the body. For instance, the heart and the lungs are very close together because the heart needs oxygen for the blood very quickly. It showed the organization of the pig’s internal organs and the significance of the position of each organ. This experiment allowed biology students to learn, in a hands-on way, about the many systems of the body. In future experiments, it would be better to have a smaller pig so that the incisions are much cleaner and easier to perform. The skin and muscle were far thicker and harder to cut through than all the other pigs and resulted in the scalpel not cutting properly. Due to the large size of the pig, it was more difficult to create accurate incisions on the ventral side of the pig. Some experimental errors that occurred during the experiment dealt mainly with the pig’s skin and the incisions. It was surrounded by the lungs protectively and was very muscular due to the constant pumping of blood. Also, the heart was found to be smaller than previous expectations. ![]() This could be due to the amount of time the pig was preserved for. However, the discoloration of the organs was quite unusual. The pig dissection was a learning experience that allowed students to distinguish the many organs and organ systems in the pig’s body and, ultimately, the organs and organ systems of the human body.Īlthough the pig fetus was larger than what was expected, the procedure went well and all the necessary parts of the pig were visible. Pigs are complex organisms with an internal structure similar to that of the human body. Pig preserved in Formaldehyde (a colorless, toxic water-soluble gas that is used to preserve the pig and its organs).Animations and interactions allow students to see how the frog’s body works-from blood pumping through the heart, to joints that can be built up and moved by the user. The program also makes learning anatomy an enjoyable experience, by allowing students to have fun and learn through exploration and discovery. The Digital Frog 2.5 engages students with an interactive, virtual dissection, allowing the student to learn each of the cuts necessary by “cutting” with a digital scalpel before watching the full screen video. ![]() This was a very inexpensive and comprehensive virtual frog dissection option. We purchased this app for our iPad and absolutely love it! I appreciate the fact that you can easily do the frog dissection over and over again, and love all the added information within the app.
